Disposing of old kitchen knives

We have been asked on several occasions by members of the public as to how they can dispose of their old kitchen knives safely.

We offer knife surrender bins at Police Stations across the region so people can dispose of their knives or any other weapons they may have- no questions asked.

Please make sure any item you are disposing of is safe to handle whilst travelling to the surrender bin. Items must be wrapped and placed in a sealed bag or box. They must not be carried openly at any time.
